Privacy policy for the DinoSnot Chrome extension.
Effective October 28, 2026 · Extension version 1.0.0
Who operates this extension
DinoSnot operates this extension and the feed at dinosnot.com. For privacy requests, contact us through the official DinoSnot Facebook page. This policy covers the extension and its feed requests; external websites have their own policies.
What stays on your device
The extension stores your saved markets, selected market, update preference, alert thresholds and alert results, and a cache of market quotes in Chrome’s local storage. These preferences are not synced to a DinoSnot account or uploaded as a watchlist or alert profile. CSV downloads are generated in your browser and saved wherever you choose.
What reaches our servers
When you open or refresh the sidebar, it requests market data and published articles over HTTPS from dinosnot.com. History requests include the selected benchmark, range, and any custom start and end dates. Article requests include a page number. Our web server and infrastructure providers receive the IP address, request URL and query parameters, time, response status, and browser/user-agent information normally included with these requests.
The extension does not read other tabs, browsing history, page contents, passwords, payment details, or cookies. It does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or a persistent user identifier. Feed requests omit credentials and do not create an application session.
Why we use this information
Local preferences make your sidebar work. Network information allows us to deliver the requested content, apply rate limits, diagnose failures, and protect the service. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or lending eligibility.
Service providers and disclosure
Cloudflare delivers and protects traffic, and DigitalOcean hosts the application. They process request information to provide those services under their applicable terms and privacy policies. The extension requests data from DinoSnot; it does not send your local watchlist or alerts directly to market-data providers. We may disclose information when required by law or to investigate abuse and protect the service.
See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and DigitalOcean’s privacy policy. Following an article, source, or contact link opens that website in your browser and is subject to that website’s own practices.
Retention and deletion
Local settings remain until you change them or remove the extension. Removing the extension through Chrome’s extension manager clears its extension storage; downloaded CSV files remain until you delete them. Remove individual alerts using their delete buttons and saved markets using their stars.
The application web server rotates access logs daily and retains up to 14 rotated logs. Infrastructure providers may retain security and operational records under their own policies; those records do not necessarily follow the application server’s rotation schedule. Contact DinoSnot to ask about access or deletion of server information. We may need limited request details to locate it and may retain records where required for security or legal obligations.
